Choquequirao, lost city of the Incas, where the Incas took refuge after the Spanish invasion. It is located in the Vilcabamba Valley - Province of La Convención. The Choquerirao archaeological complex is considered as important as Machupicchu because of the similarity of its constructions. Our trip starts from the city of Cusco. After traveling 145 km of paved road and 10 km of paved road, arriving first to the town of Cachorra, where the road to our desired destination begins with about 32 km. Day 1 : Cusco – Cachora – Chiquisqa
Our departure from Cusco starts at 6:00 a.m. heading to the village of Cachora (3100 masl) at approx. 10:00 a.m. from here we will continue accompanied by porters and pack horses, it is here where we begin our hike, on the way we will enjoy the view of the snowy Padrayoc (5, 482 masl) and Wayna Cachora, In the pass of Capuliyoc (2900 masl) we will take a short break, from where we will enjoy a panoramic view of the Apurimac Valley, and then descend and appreciate the beautiful landscape with a warm climate to Chiquisqa (1930 masl) where we will have our first camp. (Almuerzo y cena).
Day 02: Chiquisqa – Rosalina Beach – Sunchupata
After breakfast (5:00 a.m.), we will continue our hike to Rosalina Beach (1550 masl), then we will climb the slope towards Santa Rosa (2100 m) where we will rest to enjoy lunch, then we will climb to Maranpata (2850 masl), then we will walk a straight stretch towards Sunchupata, where we will camp and have our dinner (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Day 03: Sunchupata – Choquequirao – Chiquisqa
At dawn after enjoying our breakfast we will go to Choquequirao and appreciate the sunrise, we will visit the Citadel for three hours accompanied by our guide who will explain the importance of the Inca archaeological complex and the importance of the Apurimac and Rio Blanco rivers, also appreciate the mountain range of Vilcabamba, then returning to Sunchupata begin to descend to Santa Rosa, then descend to Playa Rosalina, then continue to the town of Chiquisqa where we will camp. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Day 04: Chiquisqa – Capuliyoc – Cachora
After enjoying a delicious breakfast in Chiquisqa (06:00 a.m.), we will return by the same road to the pass of Capuliyoc, from here we will continue two hours more to the town of Cachora, arriving at 12: 00 m. approx. on the way we will appreciate exotic places of flora and fauna, as well as mountains, snow-capped mountains and the impressive Apurimac Canyon. then continue to the city of Cusco. Arriving in the afternoon to the hotel.
